Rezoning of former Quarry Land, Exeter

Location: Exeter NSW

Status: Complete

Use: Rezoning of land for a proposed subdivision of land occupied by Exeter Quarry

Client: Malcolm Holdings Pty Ltd

The Project:

This project involved the preparation of a draft local environmental study (LES) and draft local environmental plan (LEP) for a proposed subdivision of land then occupied by Exeter Quarry in the southern highlands. The project aimed to facilitate the subdivision of the land into 25 rural allotments over the 120 ha site. The process involved consultation with the local Council and the Exeter Village Association. With the aim to achieve a consensus from residents into the future of quarry lands on the edge of the village of Exeter, a consultation day was conducted in associated with planner Wendy Sarkissian. The day included static displays and a residents’ vote on various design alternatives. Residents were encouraged to record their comments on the public display and the event was coordinated with a barbeque arranged by the client.
