Use: 1,500 square metre supermarket and 476 square metres of specialty stores
Client: Fabcot Pty Ltd
TPG was engaged as the planning consultant for this heritage infill development with frontages to Leura Mall and the Leura Village public car parking area. The new infill development complements the heritage precinct of Leura Mall, including a number of specialty shops which have been integrated neatly with the heritage streetscape and scale of Leura mall shops. The development has expanded the diversity of shopping in Leura while at the same time supporting existing retailers, complementing the tourist destination that is Leura.
TPG’s key responsibilities included design input and worked with other key consultants to address challenges associated with the existing site, ensuring the design would complement the existing heritage precinct as well as providing a retail anchor for the Leura locality. TPG’s other key responsibilities included the preparation of a Statement of Environmental Effects and liaison with council throughout the approval process to ensure a good outcome for the client and the residents of the Leura town centre. The development became operational in April 2011 and has been well received by the community.
