Location: 6-8 Baywater Drive, Wentworth Point
Use: Proposed alterations and additions to existing warehouse building for use and new signage
Client: Acer Computers Australia Pty Ltd
The proposed development involved alterations and additions along with signage upgrades to enable ACER to occupy the site. ACER were seeking to maintain its Australian head office in the locality and effectively communicate the name of the business in a high quality design that would be compatible with the style, materials and finishes of the existing commercial premises.
Due to the location of the proposed development, Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 24 - Home Bush Bay Area and Sydney Regional Environmental Plan (Sydney Harbour Catchment) 2005 were triggered. To meet the objectives and requirements of these instruments the proposed development ensured that good access to the foreshore remained. In addition, to soften the visual impact and conserve or improve the views from the waterway the existing landscaping on the eastern side of the building was recycled and the content of the signage boxes was merely altered with the upgraded information.
