This project involved the completion of shale mining, the filling of the quarry pit with 'clean' material and the rehabilitation of the site. TPG (NSW) was commissioned to prepare the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for this local, integrated, designated development. The EIS will facilitate the extraction of some 60,000 tonnes of brown clay shale over 3 years and the staged rehabilitation of the site over a 4 year period.
After rehabilitation, the site will revert to its previous 'pre-extraction' land form and will be used for rural purposes. |
